Meet The Doctor at South Bay Veterinary Clinic

Dr. Caroline Bowater of South Bay Veterinary Clinic.

Caroline Bowater, DVM
Veterinarian / Owner

Dr.Bowater is originally from England “across the pond”. As a young girl growing up in London she always knew she wanted to be a veterinarian. Her family always had pets and she loved the bond she shared with them. She and her family moved to Connecticut in 1976. On arrival at Kennedy Airport they had 21 pieces of luggage, including 2 dogs and 2 cats. Customs took one look and told them to keep on going! Dr. Bowater graduated from University of Rhode Island in 1988. She went on to attend Tuskegee School of Veterinary Medicine and graduated in 1995. Prior to owning South Bay Veterinary Clinic, Dr. Bowater practiced veterinary medicine throughout southern RI. Having worked in a variety of clinical settings and gaining valuable experience she made the move to be an owner. She enjoys sharing her knowledge and her passion for animals with her clients. Other personal interests include travel, gardening, reading, and Muay Thai kickboxing. She owns two wonderful labradoodles, Inspector Gadgett and Clover, lovingly named by her 3 children!

Dr Caroline Bowater serves as the veterinarian for Animal Rescue Rhode Island (ARRI).She provides wellness and sick visits as well as general surgery."We have the privilege of working directly with ARRI and helping with the medical care of their adoptees. We are fortunate to see many of these animals return to us for general care after being placed with their forever families. It is so rewarding to play a role in the adoption process and watch these pets live, grow and feel loved"

Dr. Caroline Bowater is also proud to serve as the vet for Pet Supplies Plus in Narragansett.
